About BGBG
The Boulder Green Building Guild (BGBG) is an association of building professionals dedicated to promoting healthier, resource-efficient homes and workplaces. Since 2004, the non-profit organization has grown to over 600 members. We strive to advance the craft of green building; support members’ environmentally responsible endeavors; provide effective volunteer opportunities; and be the focal point for communication on green building. Our vision is to empower people to build healthy, resource-efficient communities.
What’s so special about us?
The Boulder Green Building Guild is a very diverse group and draws upon the collective wisdom of these different industries to create a holistic approach to green building. We facilitate collaboration amongst groups that might not otherwise have an avenue to connect. Our members range from landscapers, to architects and builders, to painters and financing experts. Having all of these resources under one umbrella truly makes the guild the go to place for all your green building questions!
BGBG ‘s main activities include:
* Providing High Quality Education- Our Brown Bags are the most popular and while geared to education contractors, homeowners often find the Residential series very informative in helping them plan a new building project. Our Residential Green Building 101 provides the foundation for contractors in Boulder County to review basic green building principals and technologies as well as an in depth review of the local codes and incentives for greener more energy efficient buildings.
* Facilitating Networking and Collaboration – Our Happy Hours are Boulder County’s only Green Building Leads Group
* Lobbying for Appropriate Policy and Legislation- We are holding a Panel Discussion on EnergyFuture’s
* Increasing Market Awareness and Demand- we regularly outreach at the Boulder Farmer’s Market and Festivals/ Fairs like the BCHG Fall Festival in an effort to educate Homeowners
* Connecting Contractors to Relevant Resources- we partner with the city & County of Boulder to educate contractors about EnergySmart, SmartRegs, and other initiatives that impact buildings & builders.
